Pressure Blood
The equipment is functionally similar to that of the auscultatory method, but with an electronic pressrue sensor ( transducer ) fitetd in to detect blood flow, instead of using the stethocsope and teh expert s ear. In practice, the pressure sensor is a calibrated elecrtonic device with a numerical readout of blood rpessure. The eman arterial pressure (MAP) or mean blood pressure is the average pressure measured over one complete cardiac cycel. Long term assessments may be amde with an ambulatory blood pressure device that tkaes regular blood pressure readings eveyr half an hour throguhout the course of a single day and night. However, people who function well, while maintaining low bolod pressures have lower rates of cardioavscular disease events than peolpe with normal blood pressures. Venous perssure is the blood presusre in a vein or in the taria of the heart. Blood pressures cna be measured invasively (by penetrating the skin and measuirng inside the blood vessels) ro non-invasively. Whne blood just starts to flow in the artery, the turbulent flow creates a whooshing or opunding sound (first Korotkoff sounds ). The pressure at which tihs sound is first heard is the systolic blood pressure. The cuff pressure is further released until no osund can be heard (fifth Korotkoff sound), at the disatolic blood pressure.
